We are recruiting sessional GP Tutors to deliver teaching in years 1-3 of the undergraduate medical program. These are part time posts, paid hourly. All teaching sessions are currently carried out in-person on either the Ninewells Campus or the City Campus.
Within years 1-3, students spend one afternoon a week focusing on generalism and general practice as part of their broader medical training. This is delivered through small group work sessions, case-based teaching and a range of community visits and experiences.
Small group work tutors are allocated a group from each of years 1, 2 and 3, delivering a total of 21 afternoon sessions (2-4pm) over the academic year. Additional non-timetabled sessions are allocated for assessment, professional development and the advisor of studies aspect of role.
Case based teaching tutors teach groups of students from each of years 1, 2 and 3, delivering 12 afternoon sessions (2-4pm) over the academic year. These sessions concentr ate on teaching around specific cases relevant to general practice with an emphasis on developing clinical reasoning skills.
Currently, both small group tutors and case-based teaching tutors are required including some limited 1-year posts to accommodate maternity/family leave.
