Applications are invited for a skilled researcher to work as part of a research team undertaking a national study of gambling and gambling harms in LGBTQ+ communities.
The project is funded by GambleAware with the aim to understand: 1) the prevalence of gambling harm amongst LGBTQ+ communities in Great Britain, 2) the lived experience of gambling harms in LGBTQ+ people, 3) the types of gambling engaged in by LGBTQ+ people, 4) the wider impacts of gambling for LGBTQ+ people, 5) the drivers of gambling harms, 6) the protective factors against gambling harm and, 7) the facilitators and barriers to accessing support for gambling harms. Based on the outcomes of this project, recommendations will be made for future research, for service users, as well as for practitioners who work in the field.
You will play a key role in the project including: day-to-day running of the project; preparing ethics applications; working closely with project partners and community groups; recruitment and data collection activities (including creative methods as well as interviews and/or focus groups); drafting of the final report for the project funders; participating in regular meetings with the research team as well as the project steering group; and drafting papers for publication.

The position is fixed for 15 months as the funding is limited to this period. The full time equivalent of the post is 0.6 full-time equivalent, ideally starting no later than the 15 August 2024, to meet the project timescales. You will be based at Falmer with both office and remote working.
