Flow Cytometry Assistant - PNAC - Flow Cytometry Facility - LMB 2414

Fixed term for 24 months

MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK 

An opportunity to join the busy Flow Cytometry facility based within the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), Cambridge for a Flow Cytometry Assistant is available immediately. The role would suit a recent graduate (or equivalent) in a biological, engineering or instrumentation subject with a keen interest in flow cytometry. Full training will be provided. 

The job entails assisting the Flow Cytometry Facility staff in providing a smooth and reliable cell sorting service to researchers working in the LMB. You will be technically minded and have a proven ability to learn fast in a demanding environment. Experience and knowledge of the principles and applications of analytical flow cytometry and cell sorting would be an advantage but is not a requirement. Experience in the use of complex biomedical equipment and of training others is desirable. You are expected to have excellent communication skills, patience when teaching others and a willingness to learn and keep up to date with emerging technologies relevant to the role. 

The position is offered on a full time (36hrs per week) basis for 2 years in the first instance.
