We are seeking maternity cover for our existing JobShop Manager, this role oversees the activities of our Student Ambassador Scheme. Our Student Ambassador Scheme is one of the largest in the country with around 350+ active student workers in it. The JobShop Manager has full responsibility for the Student Ambassador Scheme. This includes, for example, recruitment of over 300 student Ambassadors, induction, training and CPD of new and existing Student Ambassadors, and managing a team of three to oversee the day-today management of shift allocation, vacancy management, payroll, etc.

The post-holder will collaborate with key stakeholders such as HR, Payroll, Staff across Directorates and Faculties that recruit Student Ambassadors such as, UKSR Recruitment Teams, Open Days, Student Services, STAART, etc.

The JobShop Manager leads a team of JobShop Officers (x2) and a Placement student, managing their workload, performance, and professional development. In addition, the JobShop Manager works closely with the other Managers in the Employability Service, the post holder, therefore, will benefit from extensive experience of collaborating with teams across the institution.

Candidates should have Proven experience of working in a role involving large scale student success projects, preferably with a focus in recruitment and employability skills development in a higher education setting.

Sound understanding of the graduate and post-graduate labour market in the UK and internationally and proven ability to manage, motivate and support team members, including by providing feedback, planning, and prioritising workloads, and enabling professional development.

Proven experience of proactively developing services and/or processes to improve the design and delivery of careers education activities, particularly from a user’s perspective and collaborate across institution.

The post-holder may implement a new IT system, so experience in IT project management and system implementation would be welcome.

There is flexibility around the location for this role, in both Greenwich and Medway. In addition, condensed working hours can potentially be negotiated, keeping in mind that this role requires travel between campuses, and the flexibility to work weekends and evening (Open days, Taster Days, etc.).
