About us

Set within UCL’s Faculty of The Built Environment, The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER) is comprised of four world-class Institutes, providing the expert knowledge collaborative research and teaching of UCL Energy Institute, UCL Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering, UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage and UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources. Staff have the opportunity to move between disciplines and engage with the School’s shared problem domains of Energy, Environment, Resources and Heritage. BSEER allows staff to participate more easily in multidisciplinary research to solve real-world problems, both at The Bartlett and in the wider UCL community.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Administrator to join the administrative team to support the delivery of grants currently valued at £70m and the submission of new proposals averaging over 120 per year. Working as part of the research administration team, the post holder will provide effective administrative support of the research proposal process and other pre-award related tasks. The post-holder will support the Senior Research Administrator with pre award processes across a range of grants and opportunities including those funded by research councils, international and national government bodies, the EU and significant industry partners. In addition, the role requires interaction with many people within and external to UCL, thus a professional attitude, willingness to help and a positive outlook are required in order to adequately execute the duties outlined. About you

The candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and experience of providing administrative support to senior staff, ideally within a university or research environment. Good numeracy and financial data analysis, computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as the ability to independently prioritise and organise own workload to meet time-critical schedules are essential.
