We are looking for an experienced administrator with excellent attention to detail to join the Fee Record team within our Student Records, Data, and Scheduling team. This small team works within the wider Student and Academic Administration Department, making sure that student funding data is accurately processed and recorded in line with our statutory obligations.
About the role
In this position, you will act as a key point of contact for the funding function within the team, supporting the day to day running of the University’s bursaries and scholarships provision, and the administration of U.S. Federal Aid/Loans using the SITS system, the US National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), and the US Common Origination Disbursement system. You’ll deal with enquiries, providing professional and accurate information, advice, and guidance to students and staff on a range of student funding matters.
In addition, you will help to maintain our data, creating student funding records and providing reports for internal and external audiences. You’ll work closely alongside colleagues in other areas of the University to make sure records are kept up to date, particularly when there are changes to students' status which may impact on fees liability or entitlement for support.
About you
We're looking for someone with experience within the higher education sector, including experience of using student record systems (for example, SITS). Your advanced IT skills, particularly in data analysis with Microsoft Excel, will be key to the role, and you must be confident in reviewing and analysing financial data.
As part of this role, you will be required to liaise closely with external organisations (including the Student Loans Company, Office for Students, Research Councils etc.) so any prior experience working alongside these organisations would be beneficial.
What we can offer
In addition to salary, you will receive a yearly incremental pay rise, generous annual leave entitlement of 25 days holiday plus 7 university closure days and 8 bank holidays (pro rata for part time roles), a generous pension, access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes, and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery.
How to apply
To apply please submit a CV and cover letter outlining why you are suitable for this role. You should include specific detail about how you meet the essential criteria stated in the person specification.
