We have several exciting short-term opportunities in the Department of Computer Science for computer programmers looking to increase their expertise in next-generation AI technologies and to have an impact on the use of AI and robotics in healthcare. You will contribute to a project developing AI and robot technologies for people with disabilities funded by the Wellcome Trust, and work as part of a team improving robot communication and scene understanding capabilities using neural networks and large language models. You will also support project exhibits at summer science festivals. You will have, or be studying for, a degree in computer science or a related discipline with expertise in programming (e.g. Python, C++) and some familiarity with AI methods. Experience in robot programming, including ROS, will be helpful though not essential. Successful applicants will be expected to start in June and will be contracted for between 3 and 7 months.
