Assistant Professor

Corvinus University of Budapest has over a 100-year-old history and is one of the leading universities in Hungary in Business and Management, Economics, and Social Sciences.

The Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation is welcoming applications for the Assistant Professor position for 3 years definite period starting in the autumn semester of 2024. 

Job description and key duties: 

• Teaching duties:
  • Teaching subjects in the portfolio of the institute during weekly class hours
  • Providing lectures and seminars on Bachelor and Master levels in Sports Business Studies, International Business and Business Economics (mainly in English)
  • Teaching load is defined in the Corvinus Academic Career Model: research focused 6, balanced 12, education focused 18 contact hours of 45min / week (these hours might change in the new academic year) 

• Research duties:
  • Writing articles in prestigious international and domestic journals in the fields of Sports Business and Sports Management, Sports Marketing, International Business and/or other fields related to the institute
  • Participating at important international and domestic conferences, building international scientific relationships, getting involved in research projects, active research application activity in the fields of Sports Business and Sports Management, International Business, Business Economics and/or other fields 

Service duties:

• Active participation in the professional life of the institute and the university, performing service tasks determined by the head of the institute
• Supporting early-career academics at the university, supervising Bachelor and Master students as well as students participating in student competitions.
• Mentoring students and colleagues in the institute.
• Involvement in the development of the taught courses.
• Contributing to the supervision of (Scientific Students' Associations Conference
• Participating in projects, committees and other bodies 

Essential qualifications, skills and experience: 

• Doctorate;
• Ideally, minimum 3 years of teaching and research experience in higher education, or ideally, 3 years of professional experience.
• Knowledge, experience, and foreign language skills in the discipline of the courses
• Research achievement, regular domestic and international publications.
• Advanced English language skills
• Openness towards innovative teaching methods
• Creativity
• High-quality oriented
• Problem-solving attitude
• Team-player
• Experience in case-based teaching 

Desirable criteria:

• Feedback (student evaluation, evaluation of direct supervisor)
• International teaching experience
• International research project experience
• Regular participation in international conferences, membership in international networks
• Considerable publication results
• PhD from a university with remarkable international ranking (ARWU)
