Senior Lecturer in Electrical & Electronic Engineering

The Department of Engineering, Computing and Maths (ECAM) is looking for a Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. We are seeking outstanding applicants who have a shared ambition to join the department at a very exciting time for the University. The successful candidate will work within the team to strengthen the distinctiveness of the University’s student experience as high-quality, personalised, accessible and aspirational. We aim to ensure that we equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of technical knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills and professional practices.

We are a growing department, having been founded in 2016, making this a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic academic to help shape the future of Engineering at the University of Chichester by developing and delivering high quality teaching and building a successful research area. The Department offers a growing range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science, including a substantial degree apprenticeship provision. Our programmes are recognised for their academic quality, innovation and close ties to the industries in which our graduates will work. ECAM operate from their home in the ‘Tech Park,’ which is a state-of-the-art £35 million building based on the university’s Bognor Regis campus.

We are particularly looking for applicants with research interest and experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Control Engineering
• Communication systems and networks
• Analogue and digital design
• Instrumentation
• Electromagnetic theory
• Applications, such as the Internet of Things, Edge Computing etc.

Working with the Engineering, Computing and Maths staff team and students, you will, among other activities, make a key contribution to designing, developing and delivering new and existing undergraduate, post-graduate and degree apprenticeship programmes.  You will also contribute to our vibrant research culture and excellent student learning experience. The postholder will ordinarily be expected to undertake programme co-ordinator duties and responsibilities.
