Digital Services are responsible for the digital information, systems and technologies used by staff and students across The Open University. Covering all aspects of digital technology at the OU, from sourcing and maintaining systems, through to providing frontline IT support for staff and students. 

The role

We have 2 exciting opportunities for experienced IT professionals to join our 2nd Line Support Team within the Service Desk. As a Senior IT Service & Support Technician, you will provide a critical service within Supplier & Service Management as the first point of contact for all IT issues. This role will provide day to day telephone technical support for our staff, associate lecturers, research students and visitors across all OU locations and homeworking. 

Additionally, you will provide deskside and meeting room support on site. This role will work closely with all other IT Teams to resolve issues with systems that are affecting large groups of people.

Skills and experience

  • Do you have proven experience of successfully supporting IT systems and software in a work environment?
  • Are you a confident communicator, with a customer focussed approach to work?
  • Do you have a good understanding of IT support processes and procedures?
