We are seeking a full-time Grants and Projects Officer to join the Projects Team at the Department of Engineering Science in Central Oxford.  The post is permanent.

You will be a member of the Grants & Projects team, which is part of the Finance team within the Department. This team supports the Post-Award financial management of the department’s research grants and trading contracts, looking after around 700 active projects across 118 academics, generating income in excess of £35 million per year. 

About The Role

The Grants and Projects Assistant will be part of the EngSci Projects Team and work closely with the other members of the Projects Team to support the Post Award activities of the department.  You will report to one of the Senior Grants and Projects Finance Officer.

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring that the projects are correctly set-up, for dealing with the project closing list and for coding the external collaborator invoices as well as support the Senior Grants and Projects officers collating information for all Audits.

You will also be responsible for supporting the Post-Award financial management of a portfolio of research/trading projects, ensuring that all expenditure is in line with funder and university regulations.

About You

You should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent and should have previous experience of administration in a research environment, public sector environment or other large complex organization. Proven financial aptitude, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to produce clear and concise financial reports is essential.
