About the Role
This role is for a talented data analyst to join a dental clinical research team which is focused on projects and reproducible applications of healthcare data to deliver innovative health care products and services. This post is funded from a research grant for which professionals from QMUL Institute of Dentistry, Royal London Hospital, and Barts and the London Health Trust work together. The appointee will be part of this dynamic research group. Example projects include developing models to predict dental disease outcomes from structured and unstructured patient electronic medical and dental records and analyzing outcome from clinical data streams. The appointee is also expected to promote the research and raise the public profile of Barts Life Sciences and to provide professional advice, documentation and training in data analysis for colleagues.
About You
The applicant is expected to have a master’s qualification or a bachelor’s degree plus equivalent expertise experience in a quantitative scientific discipline. Having a PhD in a relevant field is highly desirable. The applicant should be able to demonstrate good record experience in health data analytics. Ability to rapidly develop strong working relationships and gain the confidence is a must. The applicant is expected to work out of usual working hours occasionally and if necessary.
About the Institute of Dentistry
The Institute of Dentistry (IoD) is one of six Institutes in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD), located primarily on our Whitechapel site. It comprises four academic centres and employs in excess of 170 staff (c77 FTE). The IoD has been conducting internationally recognised research in oral and dental sciences in Whitechapel for more than. It has a long and proud history of providing internationally renowned taught programmes and currently offers 2 undergraduate programmes and 12 Post graduate taught programmes, with a combined cohort of c500 students. In 2014 we opened the stunning £78m Royal London Dental Hospital and QMUL Dental School, incorporating some of the most technologically advanced dental facilities in the country.
