MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK
We are recruiting a Research Support Officer to work with Dr Andrew Carter’s group studying how the microtubule motor dynein selects its cargos. The aim is to assist in the production of challenging multi protein complexes for structural analysis and in the creation of cell lines for studying dynein transport. This is a fixed term position that will run until 31st October 2025.
Your responsibilities will include all steps of protein production i.e., growth and maintenance of insect and mammalian cell lines, cloning, protein expression and protein purification. They will also involve purification of complexes from native sources. Other roles include CRISPR tagging cells and maintaining mammalian cell cultures. You will work as a team with other members of the Carter group.
Applicants should have a BSc or higher level qualification in a relevant field of science or engineering. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: molecular biology, cell culture and protein expression and purification.
