The mission of the UCL GOS Institute of Child Health is to improve the health and well-being of children, and the adults they will become, through world-class research, education and public engagement. The UCL GOS ICH, together with its clinical partner Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, forms the largest concentration of children’s health research outside North America. GOS ICH’s activities include active engagement with children and families, to ensure that our work is relevant and appropriate to their needs. GOS ICH generates the funding for our research by setting out our proposals in high quality applications to public, charitable and industrial funding bodies and disseminates the results of our research by publication in the medical and scientific literature, to clinicians, policy makers and the wider public. About the role
Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Research Associate to join the Molecular and Cellular Immunology Section at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (UCL GOSICH). The post expected to run for 2 years to provide clinical trial support for first in human clinical trials of engineered T cells for leukaemia. These have been generated using genome editing techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9 and base editing. The role provides an opportunity to work with cutting edge clinical researchers and interact across inter-disciplinary groups. Training will be provided in aspects of trial management, the development of advanced cell therapeutics and regulatory pathways. The postholder is expected to have relevant paediatric experience and specialist intere sts in haematology or immunology. They will work closely with nurse specialists, transplant team and gene therapy research teams. This post is available for 12 months in first instance.
About you
Applicants must have appropriate speciality in a paediatric setting and completed foundation training. A background in paediatrics and paediatric immunology, haematology and transplant are desirable but not essential.
