About Us

The Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP) is a department within UCL and part of The Bartlett faculty, known internationally for its radical thinking about space, design and sustainability.

This role is available for external recruitment (permanent with no end date) and UCL internal 12 month secondment opportunity.

The role holder has a responsibility to carry out their duties in a way that embodies UCL’s environmental and social sustainability values, actively supporting UCL’s Sustainability Strategy, policies and objectives within the remit of their role. This includes supporting UCL’s overarching aim to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2030.

About the Role

The position presents an excellent opportunity to support an exciting and innovative institute with high profile academics and international collaborators.

To lead the professional and technical operations of the Institute, delivering operational excellence across all technical and administrative activities and supporting the Institute’s research, teaching and policy activities and staff, and external relations initiatives.

To help determine and implement the Institute’s support strategy for teaching, research and growth, developing and evolving administrative policies and procedures and implementing those already established.

To manage and co-ordinate collaboratively with UCL, the Faculty and Institute to ensure effective administrative support is delivered for the Institute.

To lead on key UCL, Faculty and Institute initiatives.

To help implement major new activities and projects and is a key member of the Senior Management Team.

To be responsible for any complaint or appeal procedures for staff and students.

About You

Educated to a degree level or equivalent professional experience.

Experience of change management.

Experience of promoting and providing excellence in areas of administration and the provision of support services, including the setting of service standards and monitoring of performance.
