The above fixed term, full-time post of Academic Mentor (Associate Lecturer) for the Data Science Professional Apprenticeship programme is available immediately, until 31/08/2026 in the University of Exeter Department of Computer Science.

The role
The role of Academic Mentor includes supporting Data Science Professional apprenticeship students to bring together their learning and their workplace by coordinating key stakeholders from the University and the employer with the student. You will join our team of academic mentors who work with leading employers from across the sector and standardised frameworks from the apprenticeship to help students navigate the demands and opportunities of the course. The Data Science apprenticeship aims to develop and embed a skilled Data Science workforce across the country and grow Data Science expertise in the workplace.

As Academic Mentor on the Data Science Professional Apprenticeship programme, you will act as first point of contact for students and their line managers working in a variety of organisations across the country, providing pastoral care and mentoring.
