The Role

The University of Roehampton is seeking to recruit an experienced Support Officer to support the coordination and implementation of the Initiating and supporting Care leavers into Apprenticeships in Nursing (I-CAN). Funded by the South West London Integrated Care Partnership Priorities Fund and led by the University of Roehampton in partnership with local partners, I-CAN will support the transition of 45 Care Leavers into healthcare careers.

As a member of I-CAN's delivery team, the right candidate will assist the coordination with multiple partners to enable the recruitment of learners, supporting them towards achieving a positive outcome. They will proactively engage and work with learners to ensure that they are supported throughout their journey into their chosen pathway into a health care career.

They will be passionate about promoting equal access to opportunity for the most vulnerable individuals in our society. They will work closely with I-CAN Manager to assist in the planning and coordination of engagement and outreach activities, including information events in different settings to promote the project and facilitate recruitment of learners and engage other stakeholders. They will have awareness of the multiple barriers people from marginalised backgrounds face to progression into training, higher education and employment.

They will have strong organisational and time-management skills and a demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. The right candidate will have previous experience in recruiting and event management, with a capacity to manage communications and develop recruitment and dissemination materials.
