The role

The School of Modern Languages is looking to recruit an Executive Assistant (EA) to join the team on a fixed term basis until 31 July 2025.  
You will be a key member of the Executive Support Team and work closely with colleagues in the team to ensure a consistent level of professional, efficient and friendly service. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic school, working collaboratively with colleagues across the school, central divisions and within the Faculty  to deliver excellent service provision for all staff.

What will you be doing?

The Executive Assistant will work closely with the Senior Executive Assistant (SEA), School Assistant and School Manager to ensure key school activities are managed and delivered on time, while providing professional, efficient and effective support to the School staff.

The Executive Support Team acts as the first point of contact for the majority of staff across the University, external contacts and visitors. As part of this team, you will be expected to undertake a range of tasks, field enquiries where applicable and maintain discretion and confidentiality as required. Independence and initiative will be required to reach to changing priorities and circumstances.

You should apply if

  • You have excellent organisational, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have good digital communication skills and experience of updating and creating web content
  • You can complete tasks to a high level of accuracy.
  • You are flexible and a good team player, as well as being able to work independently and show initiative.
  • You can work in a busy, positive environment, both multi-tasking and reacting quickly to changing circumstances, but also be proactive in improving processes.
  • You are experienced in using a range of IT systems and are able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly.
