Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent

The UCL School of Management is home to UCL’s business and management research and education programmes. The School has forged a reputation for world-leading research and teaching in the areas of innovation management, the creation and growth of technology-intensive organisations, business analytics, and entrepreneurship. The 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) rated the majority of the research outputs of the UCL School of Management as “world-leading” or “internationally excellent”; at 95%, this was the second highest percentage of any business school in the UK.

This is an exciting time to join the UCL School of Management as it is embarking on a significant expansion plan which will see it deliver on a new strategy to double in size over the next five years. An increase in degree programmes and staff will ensure that we continue our mission to deliver the next generation of socially conscious entrepreneurial leaders, who will tackle the world’s greatest challenges.

Further information about the School can be found here: www.mgmt.ucl.ac.uk

The postholder will proactively support the whole events process from the planning stage, administration, through to delivering the event and supporting post-event evaluation.

The role seeks to deliver a range of exciting events which professionally and creatively promote the UCL School of Management to a range of audiences. Our audiences and events include prospective students for our open days, current students at graduation, our staff at internal conferences and also alumni, business leaders, political influencers and other national and international stakeholders.

The postholder will also provide support across wider communications and marketing activities within the School, including digital content such as social media, web content and e-newsletters, branding, student recruitment, media and PR, and general administration.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following criteria:

  • Experience of providing administrative support for a variety of activities
  • Knowledge of how to deliver excellent customer service
  • Experience of organising or supporting the delivery of events in a professional or voluntary capacity
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communications skills, in person and in writing
  • Excellent IT skills including a working knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining high standards
  • Ability to work outside of core working hours (10am to 4pm), including attendance at evening and weekend events

As London’s Global University, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation, and we want our community to represent the diversity of the world’s talent. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where we all belong.

We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in UCL’s workforce. These include people from Black, Asian, and ethnic minority backgrounds; disabled people; LGBTQI+ people; and for our Grade 9 and 10 roles, women.

We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible.
