About us:

The CIPPRD Research Team is based in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Centre for Interventional Paediatric Psychopharmacology (CIPP) Rett Centre. The CIPP Rett Centre was established in 2019 by Professor Santosh at the Maudsley Hospital, London and King’s College London. Funded predominantly by parent-based organization Reverse Rett, the CIPP Rett Centre is the world’s first centre for personalised medicine in Rett syndrome (RTT) that focuses on developing digital health strategies to monitor and manage patients whilst conducting translational research and clinical trials. The successful candidate will also be part of the wider Centre for Interventional Paediatric Psychopharmacology and Rare Diseases (CIPPRD) at the Maudsley Hospital, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM).

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic researcher with a strong interest in clinical research, neuropsychology and digital health. The Research Assistant will play an important role in supporting service delivery by undertaking research (data collection, maintaining databases, & preparing manuscripts) and leading on a research project that looks at longitudinal web-based profiling of students with rare diseases in schools in England to support teachers and Improving care as well as assisting with other projects (including a clinical trial) as deemed necessary.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract for one year from the start date.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Good degree in Psychology or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
  2. Clinical or research work with children, adolescents and/or adults
  3. Knowledge of acquiring research data and results
  4. Ability to deal with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality of data
  5. Ability to use word processing, spreadsheets and databases
  6. Good communication and writing skills
  7. Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary research team

Desirable criteria

  1. Willingness to undertake other relevant training
  2. Ability to organize own time and work independently
  3. Knowledge of clinical trials and regulations
