The Role

We are seeking two excellent academics to join our staff as Assistant Professors / Lecturers in Law. The persons appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research, and publication, appropriate to career stage. The two successful applicants will be expected to make a strong contribution to the School’s teaching programme and undertake teaching duties on the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of Master’s and PhD students.
The appointees will be expected to have and to continue building a strong research profile that supports the University’s research strategy, including affiliating to the University’s Research Institutes and the School’s Research Centres, where appropriate, and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointees will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance, and generate publications of international standard.

Areas of law in which we wish to deepen our current research and teaching strengths include but are not limited to the following: Capital Markets Law, Child and Family Law, Clinical Legal Education, Company Law, Comparative Law (particularly expertise in French, German, and/or Spanish Law), Equity and Trusts, Health Law/Medical Law, Insurance Law, Law through the medium of the Irish Language/Dlí trí Ghaeilge, Legal Skills, Legal Writing and Advocacy, Mediation/Alternative Dispute Resolution, Mooting, Negotiation, Property Law, Sports Law, and Tax Law.
