We are currently looking for a Research Fellow to join our School of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (SCEBE) on a full-time, fixed-term (till the end of 2026), basis to work on the “Swarmchestrate - Application-level Swarm-based Orchestration Across the Cloud-to-Things Continuum” project.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on a recently started EU project called: Swarmchestrate - Application-level Swarm-based Orchestration Across the Cloud-to-Things Continuum. Swarmchestrate project aims to develop a novel orchestration solution to facilitate the automated deployment and runtime management of Cloud-to-Edge-based applications. The development of the Swarmchestrate solution follows the philosophy of a distributed system while utilising a modern set of technologies such as swarm and distributed intelligence, optimisation, Blockchain, trust mechanisms such as Self-Sovereign Identities (SIS) and Distributed Identifiers (DID).
The overall goal is the development of an application-level orchestrator to support the automated deployment of microservices-based applications and their management in the Cloud-to-Edge ecosystem. The post is part of a joint Horizon Europe research project, supported by the UK Research and Innovation as part of the Horizon Europe scheme guarantee.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with experienced professionals and researchers from all over the world to build relationships, exchange ideas, and work on an exciting research project to enable you to learn, develop and grow professionally.
