The Department of Culture, Communication and Media (CCM) is a department of IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society. It is committed to excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of: Media and Cultural Studies, Art, Design and Museology; Academic writing; English education: Applied Linguistics; Music Education; Multimodality studies; Learning with Digital Technologies.
You will lead the Media Production module on the BA Communications, and supervise dissertation on the MA Digital Media: Production programme, working in close contact with the MA Digital Media programmes.
In teaching the Media Production module for the BA Communications, you will introduce students to media production techniques for public communications and you will also join a team of dissertation supervisors on the Digital Media: Production MA.
This position is available from September 2024 at FTE 0.15 and is advertised alongside two other Lecturer (Teaching) roles in Digital Media Production, each at 0.15fte, covering various work areas. Applicants may apply for this role and one or both of the others. Applications will be assessed independently; however, if successful in more than one, a combined 0.3fte position will be offered.
You will have a PhD (complete or near to completion) on a field relevant to communications with an emphasis on digital media and experience of teaching in Higher Education, online and offline.
Experience of supervising MA dissertations is desirable.
