The Department of Culture, Communication and Media (CCM) is a department of IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society. It is committed to excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of: Media and Cultural Studies, Art, Design and Museology; Academic writing; English education: Applied Linguistics; Music Education; Multimodality studies; Learning with Digital Technologies.
You will join the MA Digital Media: Production programme, working in close contact with the MA Digital Media programmes. The main role is dissertation supervision.
FTE 0.15 (32.5 days, or approximately 244 hours) has been allocated to this role which includes 5 days (37.5 hours) professional development time as per the Teaching concordat and 6 days (45 hours) of teaching on the MA in Term 2 and 3.
There are two posts available: one focusing on games (e.g., game studies, game design), and one focusing on one or more specialisms among games, 3D modelling and animation, and/or VR/XR development.
You will have a PhD (complete or near to completion) on a field relevant to games (e.g. game studies, game design – Post 1) or games, and/or 3D modelling and animation, and/or VR/XR (Post 2). You will also have experience of marking and moderating assignments in a Higher Education context.
Experience of supervising MA dissertations is desirable.
