As we are a very busy service supporting thousands of students each year, the role is a demanding but equally very rewarding one. The ideal candidate would demonstrate a sense of resilience and flexibility in order to meet the diverse needs of our student population and would have experience working in similar settings.
Duties and responsibilities
This Student Counsellor role is part of well-established Student Counselling and Mental Health Advice Team that has grown over recent years. The service currently comprises 35 staff. You will be fully supported by and work with and across this multi-disciplinary, dynamic service to support Imperial students and staff and will be reporting into a Senior Student Counsellor and responsible to the Head of Student Counselling & Mental Health Advice Service.
The post holder will carry a significant client case load providing psychological assessment and brief counselling to students at the College.

The Student Counselling Service aims to enable students to enhance their psychological health and personal effectiveness, thus empowering them to optimise their academic accomplishment, College involvement, and personal development.
This is achieved through the provision of a variety of psychological services such as assessment, individual counselling and consultation.

The role is three days a week on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with at least two of the days on campus, in-person.
The majority of annual leave is expected to be taken out of term time.
