The Professional Services finance team are seeking to appoint a new Deputy Head of Professional Services Finance (management accounting/ business partner role) – to be part of our busy team of 8 accountants and 6 accountancy support staff. The whole team looks after the finances of the non- academic areas of the University, totalling £240m, and ranging from Residences and Estates, to IT and HR and student careers and wellbeing.
The prime responsibility of the post will be a business partner to the Student Experience Directorate and to act as the main point of contact for the financial management of all accounts relating to Student Life – which has an annual budget of £70m. This will involve carrying out a range of professional accountancy tasks to assist in planning, forecasting, monitoring and year end process to assist the Service Directors to maintain budgetary control and provide them with financial insight.
Significant experience preparing and monitoring budgets and the ability to use complex spreadsheets and reporting systems is essential along with a CCAB professional qualification. You will also demonstrate highly developed interpersonal, communication and influencing skills. The successful candidate will be line managing 3 qualified accountants.
