This role is a career-enhancing opportunity to for a suitably qualified and experienced individual with a strong interest in conservation and environmental management to join our friendly team within the Agriculture and Environment Department. Suitable candidates will have a first degree in an appropriate subject area and a relevant higher degree, (typically a PhD) AND/OR have appropriate postgraduate level technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the post. The post would be suitable for individuals with experience of UK biodiversity, conservation science and management and a wider interest and experience in areas such as:
Irrespective of background, candidates should have a passion for delivery of teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The role will require the postholder to lead and contribute to a selection of undergraduate and postgraduate modules explicitly looking at aspects of conservation science and environmental management
Applications are also welcome from candidates with an established record of academic publications that demonstrate research experience within the area of conservation science, practice and environmental management. The postholder will also be encouraged and supported to develop a successful research programme dependent on personal interest and the University Strategy. For candidates with a practitioner background, there is also opportunity to develop a knowledge exchange programme and provide consultancy on behalf of the University. All applicants will be expected to contribute to the delivery of professional short courses to the sector. There is freedom within the role to develop interests and to work with other organisations and partners of relevance. Candidates will also have the opportunity to work explicitly with the School of Sustainable Food and Farming at Harper Adams and contribute to the School’s work and outputs.
