Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting two permanent, full-time Pūkenga - Lecturers in Strategic Studies to join the Political Science & International Relations programme. The anticipated starting date is 24 February 2025 (negotiable).
Key responsibilities:
In addition to preparation and delivery of graduate and undergraduate courses in Strategic Studies, this role will require an active research profile, and may include other teaching or administrative duties as agreed with the Tumuaki - Head of School.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
Successful candidates will have expertise in International Security and Strategic Studies. We particularly encourage applications from scholars with research and teaching interests either in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, or Technology and Security (including cyber, AI, and economics/security linkages). The ability to teach the core introductory postgraduate course in Strategic Studies will be an advantage.

The Political Science and International Relations programme sits within Te Kura Aro Whakamuri, Rapunga Whakaaro, Matai Tōrangapū me te Ao - School of History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations. The programme is large and diverse. It teaches students from first-year to PhD level and offers opportunities to teach across a large variety of topics.
