OMNES Education in London (OELS)

Located in Marylebone, OELS welcomes 1,300 students every year and offers programmes in Business Management, Engineering, Communications, and Political Science.

We aim to provide students with high-quality learning experiences in an English environment to help them flourish in their professional and personal lives.

The successful candidate is expected:

• To teach from early September to mid Dec, 2024 (Total: 72 hours over the semester):
• 1 module in Key Institutions: IMF, WORLD BANK, WTO
  • for the Undergraduate Year 3 (level 6) in International Relations programme
  • 24h x 3 groups (in-person) = 16 sessions of 1.5h each per group (72h)
• To design module handbook (a template will be provided) and all teaching content
• To design and mark all assessments providing constructive written feedback
• To attend induction & core meetings
• To monitor, evaluate, and assess individual student progress and achievement
• To monitor students' attendance and maintain records
• To deliver inclusive and high-quality teaching
• To fully participate in the quality assurance and improvement processes and procedures

The Module

This module aims to provide an advanced introduction to key international institutions (IR) that form the basis of economic and political global governance. Students will develop a good understanding of the rules based liberal world order and the institutions, processes, actions, norms and customs and processes that regulate international actors' behaviour.

There is some flexibility regarding the content and guidance will be available.

The module has five learning outcomes:

• Critically view key players in IR and global governance;
• Apply IR and IPE concepts and theory to specific events and empirical case-studies;
• Explain how historical developments and global trends influence the current challenges and opportunities for IR;
• Present, communicate and debate international institutions topics coherently;
• Write an analytical and well researched paper on relevant topics, through independent study, group-based seminars, workshops, and interdisciplinary learning.
