Background
The Department of Engineering is seeking candidates for student teaching assistants in general Engineering. The position is targeted on improving student engagement at Stages 1 and 2 of the UG programmes in the department. The department has some exceptional facilities and this is an opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience in engineering that is nationally recognised in delivering significant added value to our students. The position is for 24 months.
Responsibilities
Student teaching assistants are responsible for supporting students through regular meetings and monitoring of their engagement. The student teaching assistants should be ready to help students with their studies and coordinate all activities with programme directors/deputy head of department.
Person Specification
Ideal candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and some experience in teaching and tutoring.
