We are looking to appoint an experiment support officer to support the human neurophysiology (EEG and MEG) and brain stimulation research in the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN). The post will be primarily based within the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity (OHBA), directed by Professor Mark Woolrich, which is a world-leading centre integrating foundational neuroscience with clinical psychiatric and neurological research. You will be based in the OHBA building in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford, but also support labs in other WIN buildings, including the FMRIB at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
The post is for a fixed term (funded to 30 November 2027).
The University has introduced a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 a year (pro rata) for all staff on grades 1–10 of the main salary and grading structure which will be implemented in the September 2024 payroll.
Working as part of the Experiment Support Team, you will independently manage the EEG and MEG laboratories. This includes looking after the consumables, cleanliness, working order, preparation and experimental set up of the equipment. You will be the first point of contact for new users of the neurophysiology and brain stimulation equipment, and will provide training in lab procedures and protocols. You will ensure that all studies are carried out according to good clinical practice (GCP) and ethical requirements, and that data collection documentation is in order.
You will have a relevant degree with experience of functional brain imaging (preferably MEG or EEG) data. Along with an interest of scientific research into brain science and technologies, you will have an excellent working knowledge of computers and databases. Experience in brain stimulation techniques would be desirable.
You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement and a CV as part of your application.
The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday 5th September 2024.
