The PhD Academy offers centralised services, social space and advanced training to the School’s doctoral students. It also hosts the LSE’s ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership.
The PhD Academy is looking to appoint a Research Degrees Officer to support the administration of research degrees with responsibility for PhD examinations, student administration, and support and advice for academic departments. The post holder will also occasionally support the provision of training and events for PhD students.
You must have a good educational background and sound IT skills, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and student database systems. You will have previous work experience in an administrative capacity in a higher education environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as this role will involve working with a variety of students, faculty, and staff. You should demonstrate strong attention to detail and be able to organise and prioritise your own work.

Please note that the successful candidate will be expected to work in the office full time for the first two weeks, during the enrolment period (late September), and for five days over every two-week period.
