Summary of the role
We are seeking a UI / UX developer to join our dynamic, creative research team. The role will support the development and release of exciting new applications which are the basis of our research into brain health. Our team maintains a growing portfolio of web- and app-based products that support multiple research studies. Our goal is to use digital tools to improve research in brain health and to translate the findings into improvements for the public and patients, particularly in the field of dementia and other brain health conditions.
This role will work closely with external user experience (UX) designers and the existing team of back-end developers. You will be responsible for developing new user-facing features, determining the structure and design of user interfaces and building reusable components. This role will support our back-end development team and to provide development for the PROTECT portfolio, which is currently entering a period of reconfiguration and extensive development.
The developer would work closely with the existing development team to design the most appropriate architecture for the new configuration of the entire PROTECT platform based on the future direction and strategy of the portfolio. The post-holder will be responsible for identifying and embedding the most appropriate front-end solutions for the needs of the platform.
The PROTECT research team conducts fast-paced digital research in the cognitive and mental health space. The team delivers computerised cognitive testing for research in addition to a suite of digital tools employed in a flexible, bespoke manner as required by the research study or commercial client. At its core, the infrastructure exists to drive forwards quality in the cognitive research field and to translate this research into new digital tools for healthcare.
