This senior executive role, reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor, is crucial in leading the university’s strategic direction. This position focuses on achieving academic excellence, operational efficiency, and the university’s strategic goals. As Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC), you will drive the academic strategy, uphold high academic standards, and ensure institutional success and financial sustainability. You will enhance the student experience and boost student achievement through effective leadership and a deep understanding of university and sector trends.
As a key member of the University’s Executive Board, you will oversee academic performance, planning, and innovation, fostering an inclusive and innovative educational environment and integrating equity, diversity, and inclusion into the university culture. You will provide leadership for academic staff development, manage the academic portfolio, and ensure alignment with financial plans and strategic objectives. Representing the university locally, nationally, and internationally, the DVC will promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and sustainability.
We seek a leader who will combine proven strategic, organisational and transformational leadership experience with the ability to lead and champion the academic experience of our students. Our new Deputy Vice-Chancellor will ensure that our university is well placed to seize the opportunities and ongoing changes that the education sector and political environment continue to present whilst shaping and executing the academic strategy, ensuring the highest academic standards, and achieving the university’s strategic objectives through effective academic leadership and structures. This role is integral to driving both institutional success and financial sustainability.
