Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Data Science / Artificial Intelligence

We are inviting experienced candidates with international qualifications to apply a faculty position in the School of Computing and Innovative Technologies, specialised in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, at one of the following ranks, depending on qualification and experience.

Associate Lecturer - Teacher with academic experience (enrolled in PhD)

Lecturer - Teacher with academic experience (with PhD)

Senior Lecturer - Teacher with academic and research experience (with PhD)

In addition, we welcome applications from candidates in any field with significant experience in teaching Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the Postgraduate level.

Position requirements

We welcome applications from experienced teachers with specialisms in the following programme: Data Science, Data visualizations, Natural Language Processing, Big Data, and Quantitative analysis.

Industry experience is also valued. BUV encourages innovation in course delivery, allowing faculty to adapt and improve their modules. Experience in module design and innovative teaching methods is highly regarded.

(Essential)

• PhD or Doctoral qualifications and Master’s degree in a relevant discipline area from an internationally recognized institution
• University or postgraduate teaching experience in related fields having taught programmes where instruction is 100% English
• Advanced knowledge of Data Science and AI
• Proficiency in Programming Languages
• Knowledge of Data Management Tools and Data Visualization Tools
• Higher education teaching qualification, recognition, accreditation, or willingness to work towards this
• Sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop teaching programmes and the provision of learning support
• Knowledge of higher education and ability to use a range of up-to-date delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students
• In-depth understanding of own specialism to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field
• Evidence of a positive impact at discipline programme level beyond own teaching
• Experience of teaching, curriculum development and quality assurance and enhancement in an HE environment
• Research experience
• Evidence of high-quality publications or other outputs in research or practice
• Understanding of equal opportunity issues as they may impact on academic content and issues relating to student needs
• Clean police record

(Desirable)

• Mathematical & Statistical Skills
• Experience in quantitative analysis
• Evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review
• Experience of living and working in Vietnam or Asia
• Experience in research and evidence of up-to-date research activity
• Demonstrable ability to lead research projects, win bids, and generate income
• Experience teaching at postgraduate levels

Degree, teaching certificates, medical check and CRB or other police checks will be required for work permit purposes. Original copies will be required on arrival in Vietnam.
