The successful candidate will undertake research to support a collaborative ORA7 (Open Research Area) project entitled Citizen Preferences in Power-Sharing Settlements (Inclusive Peace). The role involves will assist the Project Leader and, where appropriate, project collaborators in the successful execution of the project including leading/contributing to some of the key collaborative publications, reports and dissemination of events. The role involves quantitative data collection in public opinion and working with partners in the UK (University of Kent, University of Essex and University of Aberdeen) and across three other ORA partner countries in Canada (Brandon and Queen’s Universities), Japan (Waseda and Hiroshima universities) and New Caledonia/Kanaky (University of New Caledonia).
About You
We are looking for a candidate to support the project’s quantitative research including work packages that involve experiments and longitudinal public opinion surveys. The successful candidate will help establish a sound research base within the ORA7 Inclusive Peace consortium in order to assist the development of its research objectives, implement individual and collaborative research project deliverables and write up research work for publication.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.
