The Opportunity:
The Centre Manager will provide leadership in managing and delivering of the Centre for Net Zero High Density Buildings (CeNZ-HighDB). CeNZ-HighDB will develop new low carbon construction products, processes, energy and data analysis systems, building archetype solutions and innovative approaches to accelerate the development of net zero solutions for high density housing, buildings and community districts. This will lead to faster, optimised, greener and overall more holistic system based solutions to enable net zero delivery for high density buildings in cities and towns, supporting the green economy and future jobs growth
This is a highly visible role locally, nationally and internationally. This role will coordinate the delivery of a nationally strategic programme bringing together an ecosystem of researchers, industry, civic and community partners and liaise and engage with policy makers operating across the full supply chain of the housing, construction and retrofit sectors.
The Centre Manager will work closely with an operations team and a team of talented researchers to support co-creation of research challenges, support translational and commercialisation activities that deliver real-world impact, and generate a sustainable model of collaboration and growth. They will also work closely with the Centre Director and Principal Investigator and academic colleagues across the College of Science and Engineering, Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI), Edinburgh Innovations, academic partner leads in other UK HE institutions and industry, civic and public partners to deliver on the strategic and operational objectives of the Centre and promote its portfolio of activities, whilst promoting the Centre as an inclusive and supportive environment.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
