The Opportunity:
This exciting position is supporting the new Centre for Net Zero High Density Buildings (CeNZ-HighDB) and will provide administrative and finance support for the delivery across a portfolio of projects and multiple stakeholders. A primary aim of the Centre is to accelerate the green economy outcomes and impacts for the built environment and construction sector to deliver net zero.
The role of administrative and finance support is critical towards the delivery of the new Centre for Net Zero High Density Buildings (CeNZ-HighDB). CeNZ-HighDB will develop new low carbon construction products, processes, energy and data analysis systems, building archetype solutions and innovative approaches to accelerate the development of net zero solutions for high density housing, buildings and community districts. This will lead to faster, optimised, greener and overall more holistic system based solutions to enable net zero delivery for high density buildings in cities and towns, supporting the green economy and future jobs growth.
Supporting all administration and finance operations of the Centre, the role holder will also engage and work with the Centre team and partners locally, nationally and internationally. The post-holder will report to the Centre Manager to support the Centre’s activities, as well as supporting academic colleagues and external stakeholder who are contributing to the Centre’s projects and initiatives. The Centre leadership team, and therefore this professional services post, are contracted by the School of Engineering and the Centre team will be based at the Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI) aligned to the Centre for Future Infrastructure (CFI). The individual will also work in close collaboration with academic colleagues based in the School of Engineering and across the College of Science and Engineering, Edinburgh Innovations, EFI, academic leads in other UK HE institutions and industry and civic partners to support the delivery of the strategic and operational objectives of the Centre.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
