Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to work in the group of Dr Abhishek Lahiri in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Brunel University London. The appointee will develop metal oxides from sustainable materials. A key feature of the project will be to understand the electrode/electrolyte interface in different electrolytes using in situ Raman/X-ray absorption spectroscopy.
The postholder should have good understanding of evaluating electrochemical reactions using various electrochemical techniques and have relevant experience in evaluating electrode/electrolyte interface using in situ techniques. The appointee will be part of a collaborative team and will be required to present results and contribute significantly to discussions.
The successful candidate will have research experience in chemical engineering, materials Science, or a closely related subject. Expertise in electrochemistry and metal-ion batteries are essential. They should have an appropriate publication track record, a demonstrated commitment to excellence, and exceptional skills in battery chemistry. They will be expected to work closely with existing group members and collaborative team, provide supervision and support to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and have effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
