Job Summary - Working alongside the technical team in the busy practical Communications, Drama & Film Department, you will support the work of students using practical & technical facilities and resources, ensuring all resources are ready for use when necessary. You will also prepare and set up spaces for performances, workshops, film shoots and other events, working with students and academic staff. The Department has a strong practical emphasis and wishes to ensure standards of safety and professionalism, whilst maintaining a pleasant working environment during a busy and complex schedule. This role is part of the Graduate Business Partnership and offers a full-time contract (36.5 hours per week) from the end of September 2024 until July 2026. About You – You should be a graduate who has relevant enthusiasm and experience of working with entertainment technology at any level, and a suitable degree-level education ideally in any area related to the creative industries. You should have skills in Microsoft office, social media, effective communication and have the ability to work to a deadline. You should have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people and have the ability to work on own initiative. You should have knowledge of lighting, sound or video editing software and have an understanding of the process of mounting a theatrical production and/or a narrative film/video. You should also have professional theatrical lighting and/or sound design or rigging experience, or film/tv production including working on a team to create theatre productions or filmed projects.
