Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to work on a project to characterize novel mouse models of cerebellar ataxia. The project is funded by UKRI-MRC and represents an exciting opportunity to work within a stimulating research environment on a project of clinical relevance.
Your duties will include undertaking laboratory experiments; molecular biology, biochemistry, immunocytochemistry, animal behaviour; interpretation of data; imaging analysis; and preparation of data for publication. You will be part of a team but are also expected to work independently.
Applicants must hold a MSc in a relevant subject area. You will be highly motivated, have strong practical laboratory experience and good knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases. The ability to design experiments, trouble-shoot technical problems, be meticulous in practical work and in record keeping is essential.
The post is full-time and available immediately for two years in the first instance. The post will be based in the Cerebellar Disease Group, Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery, Sherrington Road, Oxford, OX1 3QU.
