Based at: Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, Huddersfield
Fixed term for 3 years
Full time
University of Huddersfield and Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice are seeking a Programme Manager to lead the delivery of a critical, innovative UK-funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project to drive knowledge-based leadership in the children’s hospice sector.
The Organisation
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice has been delivering pioneering care and support to families facing or living with the loss of their child across West Yorkshire for over 10 years. By providing specialist nursing care, hydrotherapy, creative therapy, days out, memory-making, end-of-life care, bereavement support and counselling, Forget Me Not helps families make the most of every moment together.
Forget Me Not was the first children’s hospice in Europe to employ a midwife to provide support during pregnancy and its support for families devastated by the sudden and unexpected death of their child is unique and award-winning.
The Role
The University of Huddersfield School of Business, Education and Law (SBEL) is working with Forget Me Not to ensure its long-term sustainability by developing and implementing an innovative transformation framework, “The Forget Me Not Blueprint”. This will drive the charity’s transformation to become a learning organisation and position it as a pioneering knowledge leader in the children’s hospice sector. Every year, more children and families need the support of a children’s hospice, and this KTP will enable the change required to deliver sustainable service provision and innovative development.
The Programme Manager (KTP Associate) will act as the key link between the two organisations, delivering the KTP project workplan and acting as the ‘heartbeat’ of the Forget Me Not blueprint and strategy. This will comprise multiple stages of work, including literature reviews, market and commercial opportunities mapping, stakeholder identification and engagement, research design, data collection and analysis, communication planning and delivery, reporting and organisational embedding. Ultimately, the Programme Manager will play a pivotal role in the creation of an organisational strategy that will allow Forget Me Not to continuously grow, innovate, develop and sustain service delivery in an increasingly challenging environment.
The Person
You will possess an MBA or Masters degree in Business Transformation/Change Management/Communication or a related discipline. You will be a warm, empathetic person possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders. You will have experience of managing and delivering business transformation projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
