The Graduate Digital Print Technician post is an exciting new role available for a graduate to assist in the operation of the Digital Print Centre.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable expertise in high-end print technology and would directly support the further career development of any graduate in the field of Graphic Design, Photography, Textiles or any other related discipline where design for print and printed output is an essential part of the practice.
Educated to degree level in a design related discipline, you will be competent in the use of Adobe InDesign and familiar with Illustrator and Photoshop. You will also be willing to undertake further training in these applications to develop your knowledge in layout, colour management and preparing digital files for production.
Good customer service is essential for this position, as you will be required to provide assistance and advice to users (staff and students) visiting the Print Centre reception and helpdesk. You will be a good communicator and willing to undertake demonstrations and inductions to staff and students in the use of reprographics equipment. As such, this position will also provide valuable experience to graduates who may be thinking about a career in teaching or working towards a permanent technical position at a higher education institution.
You be able to demonstrate (through portfolio) creativity, a passion for design and print and above all a commitment to your professional development and a desire to work with new technologies and disciplines.
