About us
The CRUK Scotland Institute where the lab is currently based is a world leading cancer research institute, situated in the vibrant city of Glasgow in Scotland and hosting approximately 60 postdoctoral researcher scientists at any one time. It has an excellent reputation for fundamental cancer research, including world-class metabolism studies and renowned in vivo modelling of tumour growth and metastasis.
Project outline
Are you passionate about advancing our understanding of the tumour microenvironment? Do you have the ambition and skills to make a significant impact in cancer research? If so, join our dynamic team as Postdoctoral Researcher, where you'll have the opportunity to explore how cell metabolism in cancer-associated fibroblasts shapes the immune-tumour microenvironment. Your work will contribute to understand how to establish a microenvironment that opposes aggressive tumours, potentially leading to transformative cancer therapies.
You will work in a collaborative environment and be at the forefront of cancer research, working with patient-derived cells and tissues, and employing state-of-the-art technologies such as mass spectrometry-based spatial proteomics. Our lab is relocating to the USA at the end of the year, offering you the exciting opportunity to start at our current location at CRUK-SI and then transition to our new lab in the USA.
You should hold a PhD in a relevant field, with a deep understanding of the tumour microenvironment and/or cancer metabolism. Experience in multiplex IF staining, laser microdissection, MS proteomics, and programming for data analysis will give you an edge. We are looking for someone who can start immediately. Moreover, the role requires flexibility, as our lab will be moving to the USA at the end of the year. You must be prepared to join us on this exciting journey.
