About us

The LCCOS family comprises 3 museums and allied object collections, 14 libraries, the UCL Student Centre, Special Collections facilities, multiple additional learning spaces, the Bloomsbury Theatre and a substantial off-site storage facility.
LCCOS is part of the Office of the UCL Vice-Provost (Faculties). The Museums and Cultural Programmes team co-creates research-driven events, exhibitions and public art projects with students, researchers and local communities.

About the role

To provide collections care and curatorial assistance across the Science Collections and assist with teaching and research requirements. The role holder will work with the wider Museums and Cultural Programmes team on collections wide projects when required. The post holder will be required to work at the Royal Free Hospital Campus and main Bloomsbury campus, given the location of the museum collections. There is no line management responsibility for this post.

This is a Fixed Term role with an end date of 31st July 2029. Please note that this is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.

About you

We are looking for candidates who in particular have the following experience and skills:

  • Experience of working in a museum or study room containing collections of human remains.
  • Experience of collections care and documentation (e.g. object handling, cataloguing, and labelling).
  • Experience of working with and handling a wide range of fragile, heavy and valuable artworks and objects.
  • Work will be split between UCL Pathology Museum, Royal Free Campus and the Science Collections, Bloomsbury Campus, depending on teaching/ research and collections care needs.
