Faculty of Environment, Science & Economy
The Faculty wishes to recruit a full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow on a fixed term basis until the 1st of October 2026 to work at the nexus of climate science, society and policy in which their scientific expertise has immediate impact on millions of lives around the planet.
The post
This two-year position is supported by the science and operations team at Arctic Basecamp, as well as by adjunct support from other consortium members, including Aroha Geneva, Deloitte South Africa, and our international advisory board.
This Wellcome Trust funded research project has started the 1st of March 2024 and the post- doctoral position will ideally commence as soon as possible.
The successful applicant will: Direct research on polar tipping points, including impacts on global health systems; Develop mathematical modelling and climate change risk indices; Support outreach plans.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; conduct critical scientific research and promote transdisciplinary collaboration between other grant partners to deliver specific deliverables; contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, co-ordinate the work of others and some execute managerial tasks as required.
