The Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences (BLS), within the Faculty of Health and Medicine, is looking to appoint a Biochemistry / Molecular Biology Research Technician to join our team of research and teaching technicians. We want you to become a part of our Division and its innovative and vibrant research culture. Our team of technicians plays a critical role in supporting our world class biomedical research in areas such as cancer, infection biology, neurobiology and ageing, as well as our highly rated research-led teaching.
We are looking for an individual who can utilise excellent organisation skills to support a wide range of analytical instruments. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, must be well versed in basic Biochemistry and Molecular Biology techniques, and must have experience in working with chromatography platforms (HPLC/FPLC). You will be joining a collaborative research environment, and so will need good interpersonal and communication skills. You will be able to support our staff and students to help them achieve their research goals, while at the same time promoting good laboratory practice and ensuring safety compliance. You will need to build and maintain good relationships with equipment suppliers and engineers to ensure that our scientific instruments and facilities are kept up-to-date and in good repair.
