Early Careers Lecturer/ Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Principal Lecturer in Early Years

We are looking to appoint a full-time Early Careers/ Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer or Principal Lecturer in Early Years (there is one post available, and this will be dependent on experience and qualifications) to join our busy and thriving Learning, Teaching and Research department. Students at Norland study a unique combination of the BA (Hons) degree programme together with the Norland Diploma, a practical-based course which prepares students for working with babies, young children and their families. The successful candidate will need to be a self-starter, with the ability to get on well with people, be highly organised in order to meet deadlines and work to a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. A flexible approach to work and a friendly, approachable nature are key to being successful in this role.

We will appoint to one of the following roles only:

Post title: Early Career Lecturer in Early Years
Salary: Grade H £34,315 - £37,409
You will teach on both the degree programme and the Norland Diploma. This will include preparing and delivering lectures and marking student assignments. The role also requires the post holder to be a personal tutor, and progress towards supervising students’ dissertations.
You must hold a Norland diploma and have a commitment to undertake a Masters degree and HE teaching qualification. You must also have experience of working with babies, young children and families as a nanny.

Post title: Lecturer in Early Years
Salary: Grade I £38,356 - £41,608
You will teach on both the degree programme and the Norland Diploma. This will include preparing and delivering lectures and marking student assignments. The role also requires the post holder to be a personal tutor, a dissertation supervisor to students and an external examiner.
You must hold a relevant degree in Early Childhood Education and Care or a related subject and you must have substantial experience of working within the early years sector and with students in the early years field, and hold a relevant higher degree (Masters) OR have a relevant undergraduate degree, have substantial experience of working within the early years sector and be actively working towards a Master’s degree.

Post title: Senior Lecturer in Early Years
Salary: Grade J - £43,214- £47,272
You will teach on both the degree programme and the Norland Diploma. This will include preparing and delivering lectures and marking student assignments. The role will also require you to be a personal tutor, a dissertation supervisor to students and an external examiner.
You must hold a relevant higher degree (Masters) and show a willingness to undertake further CPD and qualifications, including a Doctorate. You will also have considerable experience teaching HE students in early childhood education and care. You must have an emerging portfolio of publications and demonstrate that you have extensive experience working as an external examiner. You must also be able to demonstrate experience of working with babies, young children and their families.

Post title: Principal Lecturer in Early Years
Salary: Grade K £49,165- £54,508
You will teach on both the degree programme and the Norland Diploma. This will include preparing and delivering lectures and marking student assignments. The role also requires the post holder to be a personal tutor, a dissertation supervisor to students and an external examiner.
You must hold an MA in a relevant discipline, be research active and and have an established portfolio of publications. Having a doctorate would be expected if you operate at Principal Lecturer level. You must have substantial experience of teaching at HE level which includes contributions in teaching, research and related administration, as well as extensive experience of working within the early years sector with babies, young children and families.
