Applications are invited for outstanding early career researchers in the area of cancer sciences, who seek to establish scientific independence. This is a 2-year fellowship funded by the Biomedical Research Centre, intended to enable promising scientists to make the leap from post-doctoral researcher to being a junior group leader.
The post-holder will be expected to develop research projects within their chosen field in Haemato-oncology, Oncology, Cancer Biology or Pathology at the UCL Cancer Institute.
For Pathology, the candidate should have a specific focus on the development of AI models for implementation into clinical practice. The candidate should work towards preparing an application for a Career Development Scientist fellowship (MRC, CRUK, Wellcome, UKRI), under mentorship and supervision within a research group in the Cancer Institute. They will be expected to develop their local and national profile in their chosen area of research and expertise. Where appropriate, collaboration with the relevant clinical specialty team, e.g., via clinical academic group leader in the Cancer Institute is encouraged.
Salary offered will either be on Grade 8 (£51,474 - £60,521 per annum) or Grade 9 (£65,698 - £71,357 per annum) including London Allowance.
