The Royal Northern College of Music is seeking an internationally renowned chamber music performer and pedagogue to coordinate, develop and lead as required the College’s world-renowned string chamber music activities. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to further develop the College’s international reputation in this important area of its operation.
You will be a highly experienced and eminent chamber musician and teacher, providing support to the Head of Chamber Music, Jeremy Young and Head of Strings, Chris Hoyle. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategy and playing a central role in enhancing the College’s extensive chamber music curriculum, ensuring that it remains fit-for-purpose in developing the professional chamber ensembles of tomorrow. You will be creative and innovative in your approach to string chamber music teaching ensuring that our talented students are equipped with the creative, musical and entrepreneurial skills to enter the profession in the 21st century. You will provide coaching, mentoring and academic guidance and support of the highest calibre to student ensembles with an ability to motivate and inspire at all levels and across the College. You will be a confident public speaker, an open-minded creative musician with a passion for education.
The candidate we are seeking will possess a comprehensive knowledge of string chamber music along with an understanding of the conservatoire sector, with a track record that demonstrates excellent organisational, entrepreneurial and managerial skills. You must have first-rate communication skills and a flexible approach to your workload.
